I spent many hours playing around that house and trying to help clean it up. I think I have a picture of myself standing on the fort wall after they unearthed it. The day they tore down the house was a sad day for my family. I'm excited about the possibility of a statue on the site.
Just hearing of all this and how fascinating the Union areas history is. Where was it located and why did they take it down? What a travesty that present desires destroy precious historical homes and artifacts.
